Papa John’s International Inc. will capture the spirit of New Year’s Eve and the upcoming National Football League playoffs with two new promotions.
On New Year’s Eve, Papa John’s founder and CEO John Schnatter will take a film crew to New York City’s Times Square to film footage for possible use in a “Papa’s in the House” commercial.
The commercial series, which began earlier this year, shows Schnatter delivering pizzas to people across the United States.
Schnatter also will appear on a stage above the crowd, leading a chant and releasing confetti into the crowd. The pieces of confetti will include a promotion code valid for a special offer at www.papajohns.com, according to a news release.
There will be streaming video of Schnatter’s Times Square appearance on the company’s Facebook fan page, www.facebook.com/papajohns. During the Webcast, Papa John’s will give promotion codes good for pizzas ordered online.
Each year, New Year’s Eve is one of the five busiest nights for Louisville-based Papa John’s (NASDAQ: PZZA). The company expects to sell more than 600,000 pizzas.
Company to team with Dungy
Beginning Jan. 1, Papa John’s will launch another promotion, “National Football Month.”
The pizza chain has teamed with the nonprofit organization All Pro Dad and its spokesman, Tony Dungy, for the promotion.
Dungy, the former coach of the Indianapolis Colts and current studio analyst for NBC Sports football coverage, will serve as honorary chairman of the promotion.
For each pizza ordered online in January, Papa John’s will donate $1 to All Pro Dad, which provides parenting tips and father and child outings.
Papa John’s has launched a Web site, www.nationalfootballmonth.com, to highlight the promotion.
Papa John’s has more than 3,400 domestic and international restaurants.
