KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 22 (Bernama) -- Wonderful Lifestyle Sdn Bhd, the operator of Gloria Jean's Coffees outlets, has launched "Bean Festival" to educate consumers on discovering the delights of whole bean coffee.
The festival, which started on Sept 1, will end in June next year, said franchise manager Debby Amrini Shamsulbahri.
The festival will be held at 5pm every Monday at the Gloria Jean's Coffees branches in IBM Tower, Sunway Pyramid, Subang Parade, The Curve, BB Plaza, Dataran Maybank, Tune Hotel 1 Borneo, Plaza Angsana Johor Baharu, Bursa Malaysia and Kenanga International.
Debby said that Gloria Jean's Coffees, with 13 branches nationwide, planned to have at least 25 branches next year.
The company has earlier set a target to open 40 branches by 2010, she said.
The Australia-based coffee chain has identified an area within the International Islamic University Malaysia to set up its new corporate outlet in early 2010.
Wonderful Lifestyle, a subsidiary of Malaysia International Franchise (MyFranchise), secured the franchise rights to Gloria Jean's Coffees in 2006.
"We received a lot of enquiries from those interested to set up Gloria Jean's Coffees outlets. You will see more outlets opening soon," Debby said.
Each full store of Gloria Jean's Coffees costs about RM750,000 while a kiosk costs RM520,000, she said.
